I'm sure you are all wonderful people but holy shit there are some scumbags out there. Here's a couple of things I've dealt with in the past few weeks.
I set up showings for my client on a Saturday. We had 5 total scheduled and one of them was during an open house. Some agent who wasn't the listing agent was hosting the open house. I couldn't put my finger on it but looking back she had a sort of passive aggressive attitude towards me. Whatever like I give a shit, she asked my buyer to fill out an opinion sheet on the house, collects her info and the next day she reaches out to my client telling her that she'll find her a dream home if I'm not able to. I talked to my broker and surprisingly this attempt at poaching my client is not illegal. I emailed the screenshot of the convo she sent to my buyer to her and her broker and essentially told her what a pathetic piece of shit she is and attached a Wal Mart application.
Second one - I run a networking group where I usually do 3-4 events per month. I figured best way to stay on people's minds is host a monthly event where I buy people drinks. First time I did it I advertised it as a real estate meetup and in the description I noted that I was there to talk to and provide information for home buyers and sellers. This apparently wasn't clear enough because I had mortgage lenders, a title agent and even another realtor come to have drinks on my tab.
I started doing this again but advertising it as "Future Home Buyers & Sellers" in the title. I just saw another realtor sign up. Like OK you see me post this and in your head this seems like a great opportunity to come to my event to try to poach my clients while I buy you drinks? People either have no shame or are stupid as fuck, hard to tell sometimes.
