my 2 yr old Maltese/Pomeranian mix is dog reactive and every-time we go on a walk or out, he always lunges and growls at other dogs within our vicinity. We’ve had him since he was 8 weeks and have taken him to puppy classes but he’s never really interacted with other dogs or just growls at them. When dogs approach him, he cowers behind my legs and it honestly breaks my heart. I am trying to train him to leave it and focus on me but it’s like he gets so anxious that he doesn’t listen and is in a trance once he sees another dog. Sometimes when we’re on a walk and he even hears another dog barking from a distance, he’ll just sit down and pull his way back either to the car or home. He’s never had any bad interactions with others dogs when we’ve tried to socialize him. Like I’m really at a loss and I would love some tips or even advice on what to do.
