Hey everyone!
Welcome to Weekly Update 141. This week weāre excited to cover the Raiden team and specifically Jacobās participation in the BlockDown DeFi scaling panel. Weāll go into our usual GitHub progress on top of that. Letās dig in!
BlockDown DeFi scaling panel
BlockDown is a blockchain digital event which took place on October 22-23. Over the span of two days, the conference attendees had the opportunity to learn new exciting things about all the hottest topics in the crypto space such as blockchain security, DeFi and scaling.
The Raiden team, alongside several other teams working on the Ethereum scaling, was invited to participate in the panel titled āDeFi scaling problemā. The Raiden side of the story was presented by Jacob. The panel itself was almost completely non-technical, and instead, the panelists focused more on the current problems, challenges and the future of the L2 scaling. If youāre interested to hear what some of the leading experts in the L2 field have to say about the topic you can find the video of the panel here.
Development progress
The highlight of the last week in terms of development progress was the new testnet release of the Raiden Light Client version v0.12.0 - Axolotl. - This release features improvements to the transport layers resilience in high throughput scenarios and also fixes issues with restarting the SDK. In the dApp, more context dependent information is displayed and various smaller issues have been fixed. You can try out the new release yourself here.
In the Raiden client repository the developers continued working towards 1.2.0 release.
Conclusion
Thatās everything we have to cover this week. We loved to go into all the fun details of BlockDown and the discussion of the online panel. Donāt miss the new Axolotl light client release. As always, please donāt hesitate to leave a comment and weāll get back to you the best we can.
Cheers!
