Post Body

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Weekly Update 134. For this week’s update we’ll be doing a summary covering the recent Raiden Pulse and of course the GitHub development. Let’s dig in!

Raiden Pulsle #13

The thirteenth edition of the Raiden Pulse was released last week. It’s aimed to cover the most interesting updates and news related to the Raiden project from the months of July and August.

In terms of development, the highlights of the past 2 months were the participation in the Great Reddit Scaling Bake-Off and continuous development of the Raiden light client going towards reaching feature-parity with the Alderaan release. The other updates covered include a new round of Raiden Trust applications and updates in the development team.

A link to the blog post can be found here. If you spent the last 2 months enjoying the nice weather and not following the Raiden project it should get you up to speed in 5 minutes.

New development goals

After several weeks during which the Raiden development team focused on minor refactoring and general maintenance of the codebase (updating dependencies, fixing of minor bugs), they decided it is time to sit down and discuss short term development goals. This resulted in a list of 4 major development goals which will be prioritized over the upcoming weeks.

In the Raiden Client they decided to focus on the completion of the webRTC integration and to start working on the Cross Token Network Payments (CTNP). CTNPs are essentially a feature which was previously known as token swaps. Furthermore, they will also work on the new release of the Raiden Service Bundle (RSB) which should make the RSB more stable and robust. Last but not least, work on the Raiden light client towards Alderaan feature parity will be continued.

Development progress

In order to be able to focus on the new development goals as soon as possible, the Raiden development team focused on completing all the tasks related to refactoring and general maintenance.

More dependencies were tested and updated across the repositories and completing of refactoring tasks was also prioritized.

Conclusion

That’s everything we have to cover for this Weekly Update. Our main focus being the Raiden Pulse and looking into Cross Token Network Payments (CTNP). If there’s anything you’d like to learn more about Raiden Network or this update then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment and we will get back to you the best we can.

Cheers!
