Every day I drive through a railroad crossing that causes my R3 to chirp for Ka band. Perhaps there’s something else in the immediate area but it’s never a particularly strong signal (never more than 2/5 bars) which causes me to question what the hell it could be. There’s no police station by there that I’m aware of, just some shops on either side of the street and a gas station. Normally I would just mute it, but the fact that it’s Ka band and not X or K band like railroad crossings or other false chirps usually are really makes me skeptical, and I highly doubt there’s a hidden cop who sits there all day every day with his radar on. Does anybody have any similar experiences or any clue what this could be? Is it possible or likely for a railroad crossing to use Ka band? Mostly just curious what’s going on before I decide to mute it or not. Any help is appreciated!
