Hello GTAâers,
A recent post got me thinkingâŚ
Thereâre a lot of lonely souls out there, and a common sentiment is that life generally feels more challenging now than it did in recent years.
Please take a moment and remember that youâre cared about, special, and someone out there would miss you if you werenât in their life.
What are you? Youâre pretty amazing and irreplaceable.
Things may be really hard now, you may feel like Iâm full of shit, and you may feel like youâre so deep underwater you donât know which way is up, but - I believe - we have hardship and the lows so that we can truly appreciate the highs. Weâve suffered the slings and arrows of our own outrageous fortune and itâs lead is to where we are now. Youâve been bruised and battered and learned a lot that you can apply to life now.
Everyone has their own way to ground themself again, and as dark as the night is, the Sun will shine again tomorrow for you. If you need some help remembering the above, take a look here.
âEvery passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.â - Vanilla Sky
Surround yourself with joyous things - I use things like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Try your best to get outside, take off your shoes, sit under a tree, close your eyes, and feel the grass between fingers, toes, and on your skin. Remember your strength. Sit out in the Sun and feel its warmth. Let it recharge your spirits and batteries. Do things you need to reconnect with your deeper self, to lick some of those old deep wounds and rebuild your foundational pillars thats been damaged. Remember that youâve been through a lot and itâs made you a smarter and stronger person with the skills you need to get through your current storm.
As hard as dating or just basic human connection is, there seek out people that value you.
What Iâm saying can be pretty hard to swallow, and it may not resonate with everyone. Who the hell am I and what do I know? In the last 12 months Iâve been hit by a car twice, have a whiplash injury, went through an motor vehicle insurance audit, have been dealing with a landlord trying to do an illegal eviction, my employer isnât paying me my legally entitled wages, and my father died. Thereâs more but I list that to show that we all have our own hardships and possess the skills and experience to navigate new challenges.
What youâve lived through has made you stronger and better able to get through everything now. Donât give up.
Sometimes we all need someone to talk to, and there are supportive people out there:
