Hey y'all. Long post, I know, but I figured if I'm going to post I might as well put some effort into it, lol… First things first, please only dm me if you also live in Ohio. (crossposted in r4r,foreveralonedating, and r4rmidwest)

TL;DR - Kind of shut in nerd with a touch of the tism looking for other nerd to date.

• What brings me to Reddit for dating: I’ve had some relationships in the past, but I honestly really struggle to meet people irl. I’ve tried meeting people on discord, as well as other sites, but nothing seems to work out long-term. I figured this was worth a try.
• Age: I’m 26, and I’m open to anyone in the range of 21 - 36. Ideally older than me though.
• Appearance: 5’8”, short black hair, blue eyes, white skin, very chubby/thicc/fat body type. You’ll usually find me in jeans and a comfy sweater around this time of the year, or like the last pic in the Imgur album below. I dress utilitarian, and I don’t wear makeup, just a preference thing I suppose. I have been trying to dress with more of a goth "aesthetic" though, figured I should try to be fashionable at some point. 420 friendly, I don't smoke much but I enjoy taking edibles every now and then. (If it's a weekend and I'm trying to relax/have fun, chances are I'll be achieving this by taking a fuckton of delta 8 gummies.)

• Interests: I play a lot of video games - nowadays that consists of (tons of) valorant, league of legends, risk of rain 2, apex legends, hell let loose, and hunt: showdown. I used to be way more into photography than I am now, but it’s still a passing hobby. I read a lot - my favorite author is Orson Scott Card. Currently I'm re-reading some Ken Follett (Pillars of the Earth). I’m into anime and manga, though I read more manga than I watch of anime tbh. My favorites are Made in Abyss, Girls Last Tour, Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, To Your Eternity, Anohana, Ping Pong the Animation…. etc.
• Location: I’m in Columbus, Ohio. I’m a rather recent resident - I grew up in NJ.
• Looking for: Monogamous relationship in the long run. I’m not one to rush into anything, and I prefer to take things slow.
• Traits I’m looking for: People who have a similar sense of humor as me would be great. I’ve been on the internet for long enough that my humor has … adapted. I can be a little closed-off, and someone who’s willing to be patient and play video games with me online would be great. Kindness, honesty, communication, those are all great things I’d love to find in someone I can commit myself to.
• Personality: I’m a bit of a homebody - I go out sometimes of course, but honestly if we were to date it’s likely I’d be wanting to spend the majority of my time at home on my PC or checking out a few coffeeshops I have taken a liking to. I love experiencing new things, but it’s a bit difficult since I can get anxious. I have been told that I’m a little hard to get to know/hard to read, but it’s much, much easier if we can start getting to know each other online before meeting up. I’m empathetic, though I can come off as cold to a stranger. Apparently my Myers-Briggs type is INFP.
• Fun facts: I was adopted when I was young, and ended up aging out of foster care as an adult as well. My voice is a little deeper than some, and my tone is kind of flat. I’m also left-handed, lol.
• Partner preferences: Please be nearby, lmao. I moved here about a year ago and I’ve had a hard time meeting people who live nearby & plays the same video games as me. I (heavily) prefer chubby guys - and I have no preference regarding height. I'm introverted, though I try to be social... someone who's more social than I am would be lovely. Introduce me to your friends, take me with you to play Magic, etc. "Puppy" personality highly desirable, definitely not a requirement though.
• Love language: My biggest for giving and receiving is definitely acts of service. Not particularly gift-giving, but moreso showing love with actions. "I know you have a long day of work ahead of you, when can I stop by to bring you lunch?" type stuff ya know? I'm meh on physical touch (I love to cuddle and be close with my SO, but like a cat - only on my terms / when I feel like it haha).
• Dealbreakers/requirements: I’ve mentioned this a few times in this post so far, but … honestly, I don’t think I could date someone who doesn’t play video games or doesn’t play at least some of the same games I play. It’s just a part of my life that I’d like to share with a significant other, you know? Honesty is also a huge requirement for me. I sometimes have a hard time expressing how I feel about things, and I tend to be starkly honest to make sure I get my point across. I very much prefer this to anything else. Emotional intelligence/maturity, and communication are huge dealbreakers for me - my last two relationships ended because the communication and emotional maturity just wasn't there.
• Anything else to know about me/"red flags": I've had a few relationships fail because my method of communication is pretty direct, but sometimes, as I mentioned earlier in this post... I can be 'hard to read' or come off as cold because I have somewhat of a flat affect. I'm not an excitable person (I can get excited about things, I'm just not the type of person you would describe as "sunny" ya know). I can be messy, though while I'm working on it, it's kind of a constant small battle. I'm currently working on weight loss, and I've struggled with self esteem for a lot of my life. Words of affirmation and validation are always appreciated. I might come off as if I don't appreciate your compliments even if I truly do. This is why I make a point to be very direct with my communication ("hey, I really liked when you __"). It takes me a long time to get the "butterflies" for someone... I hope I fall in love again someday but I've been burnt ya know. I'm shy and very reserved in person, but online I'm more relaxed and energetic.
