I'm posting this here since I'm sure if I post it in r/seattlegw it will be immediately removed and I'll be banned (again). I'm also posting this from another throwaway of mine since my other one was permanently banned from r/seattlegw for asking a question about their rules through an overt abuse of power by the mods. Of the two mods listed, I assume this is being done by /u/modgw because the other one seems to be some OF seller. As you'll read below, /u/modgw has so far decided to hide behind banning & muting my accounts whenever I try to get information from them so maybe they'll finally respond here if I publicly call them out.

Here's the details: I've posted on r/seattlegw every few months in the past when I felt like I had a decent photo to share. This was all fine and dandy until yesterday when one of my posts was removed with the following messaging:

Your post from SeattleGW was removed because of: 'No soliciting / No r4r' Hi u/[name], SeattleGW is not an r4r subreddit

That was an interesting reason I thought, because r/seattlegw specifically has post flair titled "seeking r4r" which strongly implies that, yes, it is indeed something of an r4r sub. So I checked the rules again and they only state "No r4r or hookup titles at all." There's no examples of what an "r4r hookup title" may be so it's left entirely to your own subjective guess. If that guess doesn't align with the mod's idea of a "hookup title" then your post gets removed.

I responded to this removal message with a suggestion about how the rules are way too subjective and could use some examples to better understand what a disallowed "r4r hookup title" is and asking why my previous posts were okay, but this one was not. The only thing I could think of is that my recent one had a question in the title whereas others didn't, but who knows since there was very little reasoning given. Here's exactly what I sent in response to the removal message:

SeattleGW is not an r4r subreddit

Well, having flair labelled "seeking r4r" sorts of proves otherwise, but okay sure...

No r4r or hookup titles at all, even on posts flaired "r4r". Only R4R comments are allowed, and only on posts flaired for R4R

You know, this is way too subjective. I've posted here in past a handful of times with similar titles. Seems like you don't like question marks in titles? I have read these rules before, but it's basically impossible to know what's okay and what isn't given they only say "no hookup titles" but give no example of what is / is not a hookup title.

I received no response to this from /u/modgw, but in exchange for asking a perfectly reasonable question I was permanently banned from r/seattlegw:

You have been permanently banned from participating in r/SeattleGW. You can still view and subscribe to r/SeattleGW, but you won't be able to post or comment. If you have a question regarding your ban, you can contact the moderator team for r/SeattleGW by replying to this message.

Ok, so I can respond to that message to ask why I was banned and why the mod doesn't want to answer questions about their own rules, right?

You have been temporarily muted from r/SeattleGW. You will not be able to message the moderators of r/SeattleGW for 28 days.

lol nope! The mod also immediately muted me as part of the ban so I couldn't even send messages to their mod mail. All of this because of a single message pointing out how their rules were overly subjective. I then used another throwaway account to send a more disgruntled message showing my displeasure at this indiscriminate ban & mute and telling them how inappropriate it was but that account was also immediately banned and muted too. So here we are.

This is the level of tolerance u/modgw has for anyone that dares ask a question about their subjective rules or questions their authority. People with skin this thin are entirely unqualified to be moderators.

While I entirely understand that this is 100% pointless subreddit drama over a local GW sub, the Seattle area still deserves a GW sub run by someone more reasonable that enforces a set of consistent and clear rules and won't immediately hit the ban button when someone suggests how to make them less subjective. Shame on you u/modgw.
