It's hard for our kind to find each other, for people that seek solace in reading to find a like-minded soul. We're sadly a rare, vanishing kind in an era of constant short-span attention media. I wish I could be content with indulging the possibility of just accepting to be with whoever I can find, regardless of how much our thoughts and beliefs resonate, but I can't. I want to be with someone that entertains stimulating conversations, talking about the most enthralling notions and beliefs that shaped our world, I want to share what stories we dig the most, what dreams and visions populate our minds when we dive our noses in the printed paper. I want to exchange thoughts over what music we like the most, what artists make your ears tingle and make your heart get in tune with the track. I want to be with someone that believes in being driven by passions and ambitions, somebody who desires to be happy and complete, and is not willing to pretend happiness and contentedness are the same thing. I seek somebody who's willing to make memories to cherish. I'm tired of shallow people, of the boredom of dull conversations, I could really use a change of pace. If you're still here and want to talk... Shoot me a chat message.
Anyway, who am I? Deep ontological question, but let's go with the short answer: I'm your friendly neighbourhood game programmer, with a dark past as a web developer. I make video games for a living, and I'm kiiinda well educated, I've been taught things between latin, philosohy, art and literature in high school, and I've got a BSc in Computer Science and a MSc Computer Games Technology. I'm tempted to get a PhD in the future... maybe.
I take pride in making things that bring joy to people, and I really enjoy seeing people have fun with the things I make, it's an incredibly heart-warming feeling. So far I've worked on IPs like RimWorld, Fallout and Minecraft. One of the most inspiring figures I look up to is Toby Fox, the guy who made Undertale, I'd love to make my own game someday. In my spare time, I also like to mix music as a DJ, or play the piano. I'm kinda learning to play the guitar. I've also wrote a couple of fantasy and sci-fi novels as a teenager, and I do also dabble in drawing every now and then. If I'm not busy doing that... I'm probably binging through some tv show, anime or movie. Despite being quite a nerd I can also be spotted outside every now and then, too, when I go riding my bike or wall climbing at a local venue, or playing basketball, or football. Occasionally, I also like going out to metal gigs, electronic festivals or... musicals. Don't judge me, Hamilton was like a gateway drug. I've recently caught up with Hazbin Hotel, loved it. If you dig that stuff, you know where to find me. Kinda.
I'm into mangas and comic books, too. My favourite comics are Berserk by Kentaro Miura and Watchmen by Alan Moore. If we're talking about books without pictures, I love Terry Pratchett. I'm always up to talk about nerd stuff, especially if it involves discussing storytelling!
I'm hoping to find someone likeminded who'd like to play games together, somebody who'd ideally want to go through some co-op/pvp games while chilling on Discord, or just keep me company. I've got plenty of stuff we could try out through remote-play together as well! My favourite games are roguelikes like The Binding of Isaac, or soulslikes like Elden Ring, but I've been enjoying playing Helldivers 2 lately. I also have a VR headset. If you fancy trying VR stuff, I'm always in to play some Beat Saber. I might also be tempted for some League of Legends or Valorant.
Last but not least, I do also have a soft spot for TTRPGs and D&D. If you're into roleplaying, you've got one helluva a charisma bonus!
Here's what I look like, btw: https://imgur.com/a/h5G7w0J.
