After 1 year of daily use of 1 gm/night I went into a detox for help to quit. The health providers there knew nothing or little of this drug and removed me off of it and off of my prescribed Klonopin cold turkey. From that day on, for 8 months, I suffered major insomnia, visual and auditory hallucinations, akathisia, and could not function. Fortunately, due to my age(67), health history (high bp and cancer survivor) and 34 years of prescribed Klonopin use, my new psychiatrist last month prescribed Klonopin again. This gradually relieved me of the my symptoms. So, with Klonopin and many months time, my withdrawal symptoms from Phenibut stopped quickly. This doc believes that the dangers to my health(severe withdrawal for SO long) without benzos was more dangerous than prescribing Klonopin again. That is how I quit Phenibut. My doc will now taper me off Klonopin but it will be very slow since at age 68 this is a fragile process. Good luck to all. Please stop by tapering off of Phenibut. If you take it as i did, it is highly addictive, caused some brain damage, and created many unhealthy effects to my physical and mental health. Good luck to all of you.🤞🙏
