Apologies if this has been posted before. I'm pretty desperate for some advice/mentors to help guide me on my career path.
I've changed my mind quite a bit when it came to academics and careers due to a variety of personal reasons. Nonetheless I graduated with high honors with a Bachelors in Business Management from the US and I am currently in a Masters program for Computing in the UK.
I'm not really enjoying coding or computer science. I am (low) average when it comes to programming and software dev stuff, but it bores me to tears and I just don't think I'll ever really be good enough for it. However, I love the tech world and am knowledgable about all sorts of tech-related things. I know all the latest software and keep up to date with the latest tech research and news. I also enjoy UI/UX a lot (though that's another career advice topic for another sub).
The people closest to me in my life have all said I'd make a stellar manager and that I'm a great organizer and coordinator. And about two career advisors have told me that I'd probably be better in project management for tech rather than a job as say, a front end developer.
I don't see too much difference between a PM role and a general manager role, but I'm sure I'm wrong about that. I've done quite a few managerial type jobs during my time as an undergraduate and did enjoy it. Is there something I'm missing? I dont even know what sort of questions to ask, really. Should I continue my coding education? What sort of companies should I target after graduating to achieve my PM dreams?
Thank you so much.
