Ever just have one of those moments (or days) where you throw every troubleshooting method in the book at a problem, only realize that you're an idiot and skipped a step.
Came back to the game, this time on the OneX, to play all the DLC on PotD with a fresh start. Made my personal dream team with nearly perfect AI scripts. Crusader (Devoted /Kind Wayfarer), Herald ( Shieldbearer/ Troubadour), Contemplative (Helwalker/ Woedica), Wanderer (Helwalker/ Ghost Heart) & Aloth/ Pure Evoker.
Everything was going great til closer to endgame and I decided that Aloth wasn't cutting it and made a Pure Evoker. Start plowing through content and start noticing that my Ranger and Monk are taking a lot of damage but didn't really think much of it.
Then I take my full level 20 team into a certain Barrow to get a cloak and a new pet before starting all the DLCs and my team just DIES. I mean I have a super tank, a super healer, so many get out of death free abilities and they just flat out die. Reload and repeat 10 times before I decide to spend a good 5 hours traveling to EVERY merchant in the game to min/max every little bit of defense without losing too much offense as well as retraining everyone. Even went so far as to swap my crusader out for a new Unbroken version and focused my Herald chants on all out healing/defense buffs. Go back and just flat out DIE again. 3 reloads later, as I'm about to say F this game, I realize that my wizard is always the last one alive. I never paid attention because she has so many def spells and dodges and really good gear.
Turns out I messed up my script when I copied it from an old Tharmaturge build and she was set to target ally with lowest health with all her nuke spells. LMAO. I just had to shake my head and crack up. She was just sitting in the back casually debuffing and nuking the party in every fight.
This is the kind of stuff (though frustrating at the time) I love about this game.
