Okay, I was on felony Probation for a drug charge, given first offender program, and a month and a half probation. I ran for 5 months untill they caught me. Served 30 days and The judge gave me another chance, and since I was released from jail February 14th of this year, I have completed my assigned classes, pre and post aftercare, passed all urine tests given to me(the ones required by the counselors through the counselors of the classes) the court changed my probation officer in March, didn't find out till around August because of the whole covid thing. I get a call yesterday from my case manager, and he me know that a warrant will be placed for my arrest if I don't get in contact with my probation officer. So obviously I kinda freaked out and called my probation officer. She tells me that I haven't checked in with her for 9 months, and that a meeting with my judge is set for the 18 of December, and that I could possibly get 12 months. I have proof that I called her September 1st, (that's it, I didn't check in with her but once) and every time I talked to my case manager (the one that told me a warrant would be placed out) he asked if I had talked to my probation officer, I replied no, I asked if that was a blad thing, and he stated that no, it wasn't, that no news is good news. The only thing that I didn't do, was contact my probation officer. I know that's the main thing, and I will accept responsibility for that in front of the judge, but she tells me she didn't have my number, at all, but I have a phone record stating I called. I don't know what to do, I'm 21, I didn't intentionally violate at all, feedback please, and upvote, I really need people to see this :( should I hire a criminal defense attorney?
