Beginning Applications in May
Post Body

So I am starting my applications in May. This is going to be my first time applying and I am in graduate school and my ā€œadvisorā€ never answers his email. I just wanna know how I should prepare? I know ADCOMS opens in May and we could start sending out the applications early June. I already have my letters of recommendation and committee letter settled so I donā€™t have to worry about that. I already have an MCAT date so Iā€™m OK on that. But I donā€™t know what else to do after that. Like for example what is Casper and how do I go about doing that? Should I just submit the application and submit my MCAT score get verified and then I do Casper or should I sign up for Casper before that? How did you guys make your school list because right now I only have 10 schools I wanna apply to but I want to make the most out of my FAP fee waiver because I can apply to 20 schools for free. Itā€™s hard for me to make a generalize school is because I donā€™t know how the schools will look at my graduate program and I donā€™t really meet the GPA requirement for a lot of schools because my undergrad GPA was so low. Like Iā€™m obviously applying to all the schools in New York because I live in New York but other than that I donā€™t really know where else to apply. Iā€™m told that I should apply to schools that meet my requirements but I donā€™t really know what I require so anytime I look at a schools website it looks like a good school. obviously all the schools shine your best attributes on their website but I donā€™t really know what I want when it comes to a school. Like the only thing that I KNOW that I want is a school that is more cooperative than competitive so I would prefer to go to school that is pass fail but thatā€™s about it.

Iā€™ve tried the AAMC MRSA. Itā€™s all overwhelming. I canā€™t differentiate between schools based on my undergrad GPA because if I put that in then I donā€™t meet the qualifications for any school because it was so low. There is no GPA qualification for graduate school GPA, I donā€™t really have an MCAT score to plug-in yet and tuition is one thing that I can differentiate between but that still leaves me a lot of schools to choose from.

You know Iā€™ve spent the past two years on this community seeing how people went through their cycle last year and I donā€™t know what the cycles going to be like for me I donā€™t know what I should expect or how I should prepare.

Any advice you guys have any tips any tools that can further help me I would greatly appreciate it.
