I was at work Monday night, wife calls. She's at the urgent care because a cat bit her badly at work -she's a vet tech-. Says she's fine, but I leave work 1/2hr early and rush over to be with her. While filling out forms for her (it was her dominant hand :( ) the nurse asks to get some urine, to help determine what antibiotics to give her, as she had told them it was a possibility she was pregnant.
About five minutes after the urine sample, the nurse comes back in, all smiles. Took the wife about a minute to realize what the gal was nodding and grinning about, and then: "Oh. OH! OH OH! squee!"
She's roughly 8wks along, we get an ultrasound next week to check heartbeat, and determine exact dates. Excited, terrified, jubilant, nervous.. pretty much the entire spectrum! I hope to be a frequenter here, to get tips and opinions. Don't have many male friends with kids, at least not ones in stable relationships :\
EDIT: UPDATE! Apparently Mommy miscalculated her LMP, she's only 5w 6d along. We just had the first "confirmation" ultrasound yesterday! Tiny bubble.. so scary! We have another appt in December, when we get heartbeat good pics!
