I'm just glad ash is gone, maybe I'll actually watch the new series if the protagonist is less annoying/seemingly intentionally incompetent. Ash to me always felt like a Mary Sue character: does all the wrong things and gets rewarded for them anyway, yet when he does extremely rarely make a good decision, he gets punished or ruins it. It's no wonder it took him 20 years to win a championship, because he still plays like a 10 year old with their first ever pokemon game after all this time
