My co-host and I currently use Skype to record our podcast. We each record using a mic into Audacity, and I use the Amolto Call Recorder software to record the entire Skype call. I can use that to line up our WAV files off the beginning of the call and then get rid of it. Our first two guests had no problem recording their own audio with Audacity and sending the file to us, but our last guest couldn't do that so I'm planning to just use his Skype audio.
Unfortunately, I'm noticing that due to lag or something the tracks don't stay lined up. After a minute or two the Skype file leads or lags behind the direct wave by a couple milliseconds. For a while it isn't too bad but it eventually progresses into talking over each other.
Any tips on making editing easier? Or on software we can use instead of Amolto? Windows user.
