Premise: Listener goes to Sion's house for the weekend to meet his parents .

|Listener in Sion's car on the way to his parents house|

Sion: "Yeah let's definitely not do THAT again."

|Sion laughs|

Sion: "Sneaking you out at 3 am was not easy . Do you know how much of a heavy sleeper you are? It's crazy ."

"For memories? A fun 'remember when' story."

...

"Well you did come back . "

...

"Of course, of course because you always finish what you started. "

...

"But really. That's so much for your help . I was about to lose myself over that paper. "

...

"And for this too. Like you spending the entire weekend is a lot."

...

"I hope she doesn't drill us. I don't think I could take that pressure."

...

"It will be fun ? I guess it's better to think that way. The closer we get to my house the more nervous I get."

...

"I mean yeah I've brought a girl home before. "

|Sion mumbles| "Don't make me look brand new."

"It's just the terms are ... different."

"You seem way more relaxed than I ever will be."

"I'm nervous to go to my own house. This is crazy ..."

"Yeah I'm trying to relax . "

"Alright I'll let you take the lead. We're here."

|Sion parks the car and let's Listener out |

|Sion's mother runs out to meet him |

"Hey mom," |Sion's voice strains from the right hug|

" Here as promised."

"Are you guys really going to leave me out here to carry all this stuff in ? "

|Sion sighs as he opens the trunk|

|Sion drops the bags to the floor|

"What are you guys saying about me?"

"She's telling you how we met ?"

"Aww mom don't get sappy now ."

"A good match ?"

| Sion laughs|

"That was just one story . "

"You can tell?"

" How she talks ... About me ?"

" Excited? Wow I feel like a hot topic"

Sion's Thoughts: "She's talking about me ... Outside the plan? No, no, no, no. She said she would handle it and I told her to take the lead so I guess this is her playing it up to convince mom. This is just an agreement... It's just a deal. I shouldn't read into anything she does. It's all pretend anyway."

|Sion grunts as he takes the bags from the floor|

"Hey mom I'm going to get her all settled , we'll be down in a bit ."

...

"Why did you have to say it like that?"

"Yes you did . I'm ONLY going to get her settled."

|Sion and Listener go upstairs to his room|

|Sion opens the door and let's Listener in|

"This is it! Make yourself at home."

"It's barely huge. It just doesn't have all my stuff because I moved them to my dorm."

"Yeah the bed is definitely huge ."

"Huh?"

"Big enough for... both of us ?" |Sion asks slowly and nervously|

"I thought... Ahh ... I mean..."

|Sion fumbles over his words|

"I was gonna take the floor because I thought since this thing we have going on isn't really real.... You might feel uncomfortable."

"We're cool like that?"

"So you're fine with us sleep in the same bed?"

|Sion answers quickly|

"No ...I'm fine! Definitely not uncomfortable with you ."

|Sion's thoughts race|

Sion's Thoughts: "Definitely don't read into that one . But she makes it so hard! Ughh! I can't believe I got flustered around her... Wait ... I'm getting flustered around her? No! I need to focus.... Not on her! I just need to be neutral... This is pretend remember, my huge good deed for the year. We should just go down and have dinner then go to bed .... Together.... BACK ON TRACK SION! Go to bed and end the weekend as planned. "

TIME SKIP

"The dinner was really great Mom."

...

"Yeah it's been a while since I've been so relaxed."

...

"Comfortable around her? Why wouldn't I be comfortable around my girlfriend?"

"She's kind, thoughtful, so smart and practical. She is really sweet like that time when-"

|Sion stops himself and clears his throat|

"As I said before... Why wouldn't I..."

|Sion pulls out his chair|

"I think I'm going to head up to bed first. Excuse me."

|Sion goes upstairs to his room|

Sion's Thoughts: " I should just go straight to bed since I've changed. This is getting a little bit... Complicated for me- "

|A knock disrupts Sion's thoughts|

"Who is it ?"

"Oh , it's you . Come in."

...

"Yeah, yeah , don't worry about it. I'm fine ."

...

|Sion gets into bed|

"I- It's nothing you said. I just remembered some stuff. I know the reason why my Mom said I was comfortable around you. I never really had the best experiences... In my relationships...to the point where I feel jinxed- I feel like I'm oversharing right now , I didn't ever check if you want to hear all this and-"

|Listener cuts Sion off and sits beside him on the bed|

"Huh? Did I really look like I needed to talk about it?"

...

"Okay... I could continue. "

|Sion nervously takes a deep breath|

"Things would start out comfortably. No red flags you know. I'm fairly involved in campus and I guess most of my dates would come from Student Guild... presidents... coordinators... Other involved persons. The most memorable one was second year. Guild VP approached me and she was the one who asked me on a date. I knew her like an acquaintance since I've worked with the Guild before so I agreed, she was really nice. We hit it off really well and I really took my time with it because of past experiences. After a month or two we made it official. After that things went. We would both be busy people but she would never have any time for me personally, only when we had Guild work together she would show up. If I mentioned it, I would be called clingy and childish for not 'understanding'. She would go to all the entertainment events even when I had something planned for us . The only time I would hear a compliment from her was when we were around my team or any society I partnered with. I carried her over one weekend and she met my Mom."

|Sion's voice softens|

" After that my Mom called me and asked if I was sure I brought home the right girl. She was nothing like I described at first . She told me straight out, 'she doesn't like you Sion, she likes what you can do' . I knew it, but I stupidly thought since she came to me first, pursued me first, confessed first and put all that effort in the beginning there was something there. I thought that no one would put out all that effort if they didn't like that person. Stupid little me I guess. "

"I did break up with her... It was anticlimactic. I wanted to be civil and have a conversation but she , once again , told me it can't be that serious. I couldn't take it anymore so I just sent her a text saying I'm done with everything. She never replied... I secretly wished she did something to stop me. Then I realized that the funding and events she wanted the Guild to have were approved so I wasn't needed anymore anyway. I would have probably gotten dumped the very next day. Funny how things wor-"

|Sion is cut off my listener hugging him|

"Are you ...Crying ?"

"I-"

|Sion stops his sentence flustered|

"I needed that hug but you don't have to cry for me ."

"It's for character development I guess. "

|Sion laughs nervously|

"That's why I came upstairs. You're the first 'relationship' my Mom has seen me in after that year. That's why she said what she said."

"That's why she was excited for me."

...

"Huh?"

"What you've been saying all day about me... You meant it?"

...

"I deserved my compliments ? "

"And what if cried aft that all this huh."

|Sion laughs|

"That would be fine? Are you serious.. because I was only joking about that..."

"You are."

"All jokes come from a place of truth... Mom says that too. "

"Maybe it is true ... And I do want to cry about what happened and I do what to cry about what you said ..."

"... And that would be okay ..."

"Yeah, I could use another hug."
