27F, lesbian. Attending an international leadership conference in a few months and there's a Cultural Night where we have to wear Cultural Attire — anything that represents our culture daw. I don't want to do baro't saya or Filipiniana because I'm not feminine, but I don't want a traditional barong either.

Tentatively I'm thinking of a boxy short-sleeved barong (same cut as the button-downs I'm used to wearing) and wide-legged pants.

I also want to integrate elements of my cultural background (I'm from Mindanao, though my parents' families are from Aklan and Bohol so I'm not Lumad) but I'm not sure how to go about it. Would greatly appreciate suggestions. Thanks!
