In 2016 it was agreed to shut down/dismantle the Potato Marketing Corp, so I assume a lot of the regulation about how many potatoes and which species can be grown was abolished.
In the shops the only species I ever saw was Nadine, Ruby Lou and Royal Blue (Apart from Sweet Potato) and I was hoping to see new varities appear such as Russet, but it's been 5 years and the choice hasn't expanded.
Is this just a case of sticking to the safe varieties the farmers know will grow here and reluctance to try something new?
Has anyone seen different varieties at their Green grocer?
