The backstory.
- I love getting letters in the mail. However those long, meandering letters about love, live and the universe can take a lot of effort to write, and during more demanding or busy times in my life they can be the first to be forgotten. I want to avoid this happening.
- I have quite a few smaller-sized letter sets that I would love to use. You know, the ones where you could fit a couple paragraphs on a page? If you follow the ISO paper sizes, they are around A5-ish.
- I hate introductory letters: they are boring. If I have to summarise my life on a page, describe organisational psychology or what exactly stingless bees are just ONE MORE TIME I will probably go insane.
The proposal.
I am looking to exchange short, to the point letters: more writing than a postcard, but probably less than an average letter. If you are looking for letters using A4 paper then sorry, this may not be for you.
Further, exchanges would be based on single word prompts. That is, one of us starts with a one-word prompt and writes a response however they want. They end the letter with a prompt for the receiver. Over time, we will naturally get to know each other and our understanding of the world.
Example prompts can include but are not limited to:
- Prompt A: apocalypse
- Prompt B: mango
- Prompt C: banks
Comment/message if interested and we can exchange mailing addresses.
