Maybe you're right, maybe I'm clinging to false hope because I have never seen this team this down and out...  But still, man... It sucks to think he could be gone in 2 days max....

He is a great player by himself, but Crosby clearly exemplifies his game.  He isn't going to find that on another team and I'm sure he knows that.

Not only did Crosby help and mentor him as a player, but they can read each other's minds like no other that I've seen in this generation. 

Why would he leave? Does he deserve to be paid good? Absolutely.  But Crosby deserves way more than he gets, yet he takes a pay cut because of severe OCD and to be a team player, he wants a good team because he wants cups, not money. 

And I feel like Jake seems like he has a very similar mentality.  Unfortunately he also has an agent who has a big say in his future. Not implying that we should pay him peanuts to carry the team, but I know he's a player like Crosby, he wants cups more than riches and gold....

Damn straight.  He brought us a cup and scored an important goal for us in a game we had no business winning.  Then it led to us winning a cup. 

You're right, but like I told the other guy. Yes, Jake is a great player on his own. But Crosby clearly exemplifies his game. Not only through work ethic, but through leadership and mentoring Jake. He isn't going to find that on any other team. 

And Jake and Sid can read each other's minds on the ice.
