The house in fata morgana,a requiem for innocence is a prequel to the house in fata morgana,a visual novel I had previously talked about months ago shortly after completing it and here I am,back with its prequel. The prequel is not to be played first, otherwise it spoils the plot twists of the sequel,it's an odd thing but it makes you understand characters more, loving or hating them more based on what they've done, from their point of view and from the point of view of the so called 'Witch'
I wasn't prepared for what it had coming for me and I don't think anyone will be when they end up reading the visual novel,it's much shorter than the main game,at around 10-12h of playtime,or better described as reading as that is what you will be doing.
I went in expecting to finish being destroyed emotionally,I am not one to be affected by fictional stories much but the writers did an incredible job, whilst some things you may see coming and you go in knowing how things end,the devil is in the details,it made me like and understand characters I thought to be irredeemable, providing some crucial information on the characters we see in the chapters known as 'doors' in the house in fata Morgana, throughout different time periods, sorry I can't get into details,if you'll play this game it's entirely based on whether you enjoyed the main game or not.
The music which did a perfect job at conveying a concoction of emotions into the reader, summoning them from the depths of one's psyche and the horrible things the characters do in the story, when it all could have been avoided by talking, expressing oneself is something that hits close to home. Things one thinks to make a person irredeemable, changes one's mind upon seeing their perspective,it's a tale of suffering and good people, with good intentions making the worst choices imaginable.
Overall,it's a story that I believe we should all read,if one has the patience,it will be rewarded, and even me who has a very short attention span thanks to medication, I am left grateful for having had the opportunity to read such a story, it and the main game are masterpieces, of course with their shortcomings but they are truly amazing pieces of fiction.
