Prepping for my first trip

Hey folks! I'm keeping for my first long distance overlanding trip!
That being said, I'm not overly mechanically inclined but I'd like to get yalls insight on how you prepare for such a journey maintenance wise. I'm planning on taking a shorter test run to make sure everything works well together.
For reference, I'm driving an 07 nissan frontier with about 250k miles on it. The trip will be about 800 miles round trip, mostly light dirt track and country back roads.
