Playing love365 got me thinking about the below:
Who are your top 3 best boys of OG (otome games), regardless of route quality, right now? How long have they been there?
Scale of 1(can't wait to find someone even better) to 10 (they're never going to leave), how solid is their position in your top 3?
Who was in your most recent top 3 of completely different LIs? How long were they on that list?
Assuming you don't have any information to go on, and playtime being equal, would you rather: buy the route of a new character or buy an additional story of your best boy in the same game?
How often do you find yourself switching up your top 3 LIs? Often (every 3 months) or rarely (every 3 years)?
Here's my list:
Hui Hai (Secular love): 1 month, pre-marriage!Astreus (Astoria): 3 weeks, Okita (ESCL): 1 week. Not into the marriage and kids thing for Astoria for some reason.
Hui Hai is about a 5, Astraeus is closer to a 2. Knowing the marriage scenario kinda ruins it for me (just not into Astraeus' married look plus the kids thing). Okita's about a 3 because of how frequently Voltage comes out with new LIs, but I'm optimistic about him.
Ace (Heart no Kuni): 5 years, Naoya (Real Rode): 3 years, Minuet (Love Magic): One week. I qualify the first two by saying I took a multi year break from reviewing my roster.
I find myself preferring to buy new MS for new characters rather than additional storylines of my Voltage best boy. Unless there's a good bundle for him. I feel like some of the initial wow factor is gone after you learn what the guy is like, or fear being dragged down in pointless drama for the sake of romance.
If it was my #1 best boy, then I might choose to buy his story. Maybe.
Going through this made me realize I tend to switch best LIs quite often. My attachment to Voltage best boys is quite shallow, which says something for too many options. I can never be quite sure that another route won't completely blow my mind, so I keep my options open.
Which is kinda scary to think about if I ever get into the dating scene, or Tinder.
