I saw this comment under a 40K vs OPR youtube video. I really don't understand both the vitriol toward this game system nor the logic behind this train of thought.
I have only played one game of grimdark future at 2000 points so far, but the game was much more tactical than 40K (both 9th and 10th) simply for the fact that alternating activaltions doesn't allow me to dogpile my opponent's army after a turn of staging and destroy half his army in the process.
And fighting over objectives to see who holds them at the end vs. just collecting brownie points for standing somewhere meant I had to plan ahead and incorporate my opponent's decisions quite a lot more than in 40K. I didn't miss secondary objectives either. OPR works perfectly fine without them, 40K falls apart without them. That was quite the realization.
