Would it be a good idea to run a mass market television ad promoting social nudism?
Post Body

I've come to the conclusion many times that a major barrier to people either trying nudism, or simply being ok with it, is lack of exposure (hurr durr). Could we crowdfund a TV commercial, in cooperation with AANR (or someone else) promoting the concept? When we flip through the channels, we see ads for tourism in California, Florida, and other states. We see ads for hotels, sports franchises, and many other activities. Ads for National Parks, ads for RV rental, ads for milk, ads for pork. Why shouldn't we be marketing our cause of choice to the populous?

Here are a few scenarios I played out in my head:

Ad opens with a group of young adults swinging off of a riverbank on a rope naked in to the water, or a group of people running in to the ocean at sunset. Voiceover or text says "When was the last time you have been skinny dipping? Did you know there is probably a legal, safe, and private spot near you to recapture that feeling?" Then it cuts to scenes in a well kept nudist resort, with people playing frisbee, swimming, volleyball, cornhole, etc, and a brief shot of a map of the US and Canada with a dot for every resort/campground/beach, and AANR's logo and web site address.

Second idea would be a play on "Naked and Afraid", where a guy is in the forest obviously stressed and lost, with dirt smeared on him, and the voiceover says "You don't have to be afraid to be naked", and he emerges from the forest in to a nudist resort, everyone freezes, looks at him, he's visibly uncomfortable for a moment, and then realizes where he is. Cut to a shot of a shower turning on, and then he's sitting poolside happily sipping on a tropical drink or a big iced tea, all cleaned up.

These are both pretty campy ideas, but isn't that how memorable commercials work? Most everyone in the US lives within an hour of at least one resort or campground, likely multiple, but it is a pretty safe bet that they have no idea these places actually exist, and that they aren't taboo.
