Defining "HARDCORE" + Rules Update
Post Body

Hey, all!

It's been almost 9 months since our new modteam has taken over the moderation of r/nsfwhardcore. Since then, we've gone from almost 1.5m members to almost 2m!

While the priority has always been cleaning up spam, we do believe that the vast majority of it is gone. While there are a few remaining minor spam rings left, it's nothing automod can't handle.

That being said, we're not oblivious to previous complaints that r/nsfwhardcore has become more of a general NSFW subreddit and that the current rules are very subjective. As such we believe that it's long overdue for us to shift our priority to refocusing the subreddit into a rougher and kinkier subreddit worthy of the adjective "Hardcore".

Defining "Hardcore"

For the purposes of r/nsfwhardcore, "Hardcore" is not black and white. We will be viewing it as if it was on a spectrum opposite "vanilla" with "vanilla" being defined as such:

"Vanilla"

Commonplace; slow paced; boring

"We've seen it before"; "Been there done that".

We will be judging content based on whether it's "too vanilla" or "(not) hardcore enough". While we can't completely eliminate the element of subjectivity, we hope sharing a few examples will help:

SOLO CONTENT

  • Masturbation can be considered a vanilla act due to its commonplace in our day-to-day lives. Therefore, we can deem masturbation as "too vanilla".
  • Same goes for masturbating with a dildo - while involving penetration, it's still pretty vanilla. Therefore, we can deem plain Jane dildo penetration as "not hardcore enough".
    • The story however changes when talking about larger dildoes or double penetration. I doubt anyone can say that the best content coming out of r/holewreckers is "not hardcore enough".

HANDJOBS, BLOWJOBS, TITFUCK, CUMSHOTS

  • Handjobs and titfucks are immediately a pass; I doubt anyone will argue that it's "hardcore enough".
    • What might be deemed "hardcore enough" is content similar to r/forcedorgasm but it will still depend on where it falls on the spectrum of "vanilla" vs "hardcore".
  • Ordinary blowjobs are immediately a pass.
    • Blowbangs, deepthroats, face fucks, etc. will be judged based on the content.
  • Cumshots are an immediate pass, it doesn't matter if there is hardcore content before it. If it's not displayed in the content itself, then it doesn't belong here.
    • I doubt anyone would argue that Bukkake is not "hardcore enough".

B/G CONTENT

  • Many on the sub have assumed that any random B/G content is immediately hardcore - it's not.
    • If your missionary, doggy, (reverse) cowgirl, etc. content looks like 2 turtles fucking, it's getting removed for being "too vanilla".
    • The faster and the rougher it is, the more likely it is to be deemed "hardcore enough" - it's that simple.
    • Other factors like being in public, the penetrator being HUGE, etc. can affect where it sits on the spectrum of "vanilla" vs "hardcore" but will not immediately mean they are automatically "hardcore".

GROUP SEX - THREESOMES/GANGBANGS/ORGIES

  • While many are quick to assume that anything involving more than two (2) people are immediately hardcore these will still be judged on a case-by-case basis.
    • I've personally removed content in the past where all the women were just giving the men handjobs - not even BJ's, just handjobs. In what world is that "hardcore enough"?

OTHER KINKS AND FETISHES

  • Content featuring other kinks and fetishes will be judged based on how kinky, rough, dirty, nasty, etc. said specific piece of content is.
    • This means that just because you posted a selfie of yourself in handcuff doesn't mean your post immediately gets approved.

These are just a few examples based on frequent posts we've removed from the sub. Genres/categories of porn not mentioned above are still subject to the same level of scrutiny.

Again, we will be operating based on the spectrum of "vanilla" vs "hardcore" and all content will be removed or approved on the merits of "too vanilla" or "(not) hardcore enough".

Summary

We hope to get help from members of r/nsfwhardcore by reporting those posts that are "too vanilla". By reporting these rule-violating content, we can better curate the content featured on r/nsfwhardcore for a more pleasant experience.
