So I'm working on a new tutorial video, which will be translated to a bunch of different languages as a quick tutorial of sorts. Would love some feedback to the script, if you think I'm missing something. Right now it's only a script, but yeah, would appreciate any opinions:
This is normal typing.
This is nintype.
Nintype is the keyboard where you can combine pecks and slides into a word.
You can peck-type individual letters one by one, but with nintype, when your fingers move from letter to letter, you can simply slide your finger.
Instead of tapping n, i, c, e, you just slide n to i, and then c to e.
Instead of tapping c, a, p, i, t, a, l, you can slide them like this instead. Or if you're confident, you can do it all in two motions.
With letters that repeat themselves, like the double-o in the word "soon", or the double s in the word "guess", just tap the letter again. You don't always have to, like in the word "assassin", but doing this double tap makes it more likely you'll get the word you want.
When you're finished with it, just press space.
You can choose which one is more comfortable. When you use slides with nintype, autocorrect will kick in, and you can confidently type, and after a while you don't even have to look at the keyboard, just look at the text you're typing.
It's touch typing, just like on desktop keyboards.
If you feel even lazier than that though, you can enable autospace mode. Autospace in nintype works by timing. After typing, just pause a little bit and nintype will insert the space for you.
The timing adjusts itself slowly, and is the recommended way to use nintype after you've become comfortable enough with manual space mode.
One last thing. Nintype's prediction is based on dictionary usage. New words can be pecked, and then manually added through the top bar. The word chooser can be used to change a word's default capitalization, as well as ban words from the dictionary.
This concludes the tutorial. For more support, go to reddit.com/r/nintype, or use the app's built-in feedback form
