Happy Division Round Prediction Day, /r/NFL! We had a pretty great Wild Card round, with some predictable results and some upsets, giving us some really great matchups this week. Wild Card week gave me a 4-2 result. I would love to hear everyone else's final results if you all want to post them. We're down to eight teams and they promise to deliver some close matchups that have us on the edge of our seats. Let's do this!

Browns @ Chiefs | 3:05p ET on CBS/ESPN | Chiefs | The Browns came out looking for big plays and takeaways against the Steelers and were successful. Chubb and former Chief Hunt will be critical to the chances of a second road upset. Baker can't get into a chucking competition with Mahomes because he doesn't have the same kind of weapons and is facing a much tougher pass defense. The Browns need to play ball control, with Baker hitting big plays off play-action and bootlegs. The Chiefs will counter by throwing with a rested Mahomes. The Browns simply do not have anyone who can cover Hill deep or Kelce on intermediate routes. Baker also needs to be careful throwing to the middle of the field with Mathieu and Sorenson looming. Cleveland won't have answers for Mahomes. |
Buccaneers @ Saints | 6:40p ET on FOX | Saints | Battle of the G.O.A.T.s, round three. Apparently, it's supposed to be tough to beat a team three times in one season, but that's an old wives' tale. Since 1970, 21 teams have swept divisional opponents and faced them again in the playoffs; they went 14-7 in the third game, which means 66.7% have finished the three-game sweep. Hell, the Saints did it back in 2017-18 with the Panthers. They've had Brady's number all season, with Tom having his worst games in weeks 1 and 9. Lattimore will shut down Evans completely, as is tradition with these two. If DE Hendrickson is playing this week, look for more sacks on Brady. And with both Thomas and Kamara back on track, expect Brees to become more comfortable with his full compliment of weapons. And expect more of this between Brady and CJGJ. |
Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Best of luck!
