Texans |
over |
Titans |
I have no idea what to expect from the Titans at this point given the COVID issues forcing a Tuesday game yesterday. The Texans have lost three of the last four at Tennessee, but it depends on how the Titans respond to a short week. I'm going to take Watson in the upset. |
Colts |
over |
Bengals |
Burrow took eight sacks against Philly and seven more against the Ravens last week. Indy will be coming next, and their defense will be motivated after giving up 32 points to the Browns last week. |
Vikings |
over |
Falcons |
Atlanta fired Dan Quinn after a 0-5 start, and the Vikings might be without Cook. Both defenses give up more than 30 points per game, but the Vikings will ride Mattison to victory in a close one. |
Patriots |
over |
Broncos |
The Patriots are another team whose schedule continues to change due to COVID, and we have no idea who will be their starting quarterback at this point. I'm sticking to the same prediction as last week. |
Washington |
over |
Giants |
This NFC East rivalry features two teams still looking for a superstar QB. New York’s offense showed up in the loss to Dallas, but the Redskins will make it ugly. Young comes up with a late sack to seal the victory. And I think we all want to see Alex Smith on the field again. |
Ravens |
over |
Eagles |
Bird Battle! The Ravens' defense has found its footing since the loss to KC, and they have allowed just 10 points per game in the last two weeks. The Eagles present a stiffer challenge, but Baltimore’s offense is just too efficient right now. |
Steelers |
over |
Browns |
This should be a good one. Emotions should be high because this is the first matchup with big implications in this rivalry in a while. The Steelers’ defense showed holes in the secondary last week, and Baker will make some big plays in the passing game. Cleveland will lead early on, but the Steelers will rally in the end. |
Bears |
over |
Panthers |
A close one that could go either way. The Bears' offense has changed direction with Foles. Carolina is a hot team with Teddy B, who has thrown just one interception and taken two sacks through a three-game win streak. He will be under more heat in this one. |
Lions |
over |
Jaguars |
The Lions had a bye week to shore up the protection around Stafford, but Detroit must squeak out another one-score victory on the road. I can see Jacksonville keeping it close, and could possibly pull off a much needed upset. |
Dolphins |
over |
Jets |
This could be a stinker or an epic matchup. The Dolphins have won two of their last three behind Fitz-Magic, who has a pair of 300-yard games. The Jets haven't been able to stop the pass. They could join the Giants in the 0-6 club. |
Packers |
over |
Buccaneers |
Game of the week right here. The showdown features Rodgers and Brady. The Packers are coming off the bye week, and Tampa Bay had extra rest after the TNF loss to the Bears. This is another prove-it game for Brady, and the Bucs will lead for three quarters before Rodgers leads a fourth-quarter comeback. But you could easily say the opposite with these QBs. Either way, the game lives up to the hype. |
49ers |
over |
Rams |
Slight upset here. The Rams and 49ers both have top-five defenses when it comes to yards allowed, making this a grind-it-out game, and Garoppolo faces more pressure than anyone else here. At home, San Fran will pull out a close one. |
Chiefs |
over |
Bills |
This game got pushed back from its TNF spotlight, and it’s Buffalo’s chance to shine. The Chiefs were upset by the Raiders in Week 5, but they are more accustomed to this prime-time spot. Mahomes and Allen put on a show, but the Chiefs come out on top. |
Cardinals |
over |
Cowboys |
Dalton is the next man up at QB, and the offense can still function with him. But this is a homecoming for Murray, a Texas high-school legend who has the Cardinals in the playoff hunt. I think this is the next rollercoaster game, with a handful of lead changes resulting in a close win by Arizona. |
