Broncos |
What is this shitshow we're getting on Thursday? Two 0-3 teams matchup in the early game and it's going to be terrible. Gase needs this win to maintain a lose grip on his job and lucky for him the Broncos have been absolutely destroyed with injuries, giving his team a chance to grab their first win of the season. |
Bears |
over |
Colts |
Going against the grain on this one. Foles is the starter and after that comeback win last week, he's got his team all hyped up. Rivers is starting to gain traction, so I could see this flip the other way, so I'm going with the home team in a toss-up. |
Bengals |
over |
Jaguars |
Battle of the big cats! Minshew cooled off in Week 3 while Burrow kept heating up. Joe is finding a groove with his receivers, and this week will provide Mixon an opportunity to offer his full support. Minshew can keep his team around on the road, but this game screams Burrow getting his first win late after three near misses. |
Cowboys |
over |
Browns |
This may come down to the run game on both teams. The Browns need to run to score with Chubb and Hunt at the heart of what Cleveland wants to do on offense. Dak, with more help from Zeke, will love seeing the matchups for his wideouts. The Cowboys can do a better job containing the run, forcing Mayfield to face their pass rush. |
Saints |
over |
Lions |
The Saints aren't falling to 1-3. They got throttled late in prime time by both the Raiders and Packers and they're playing a fourth consecutive game in a comfortable, large indoor venue. The Lions will struggle with red-hot Kamara and they don't really have answers for the speed and quickness of the Saints' healthy wide receivers. Stafford will get to exploit great matchups for his wide receivers and tight ends. But NOLA will put the game on ice with Kamara and Murray before Stafford can get a chance. If the Saints can stop with the ridiculous penalties, they should win comfortably. |
Seahawks |
over |
Dolphins |
Russell Wilson is throwing pure heat. The Dolphins' secondary is struggling with Howard and a hurting Jones. The Seahawks have been very good in cross-country road games. Fitz-Magic has had two good games, so his streaky nature says he's in for a clunker. |
Buccaneers |
over |
Chargers |
The old vet versus the the rookie. The Chargers looked great against the Chiefs but then stunk it up at home enough to lose to the Panthers. They have a talented defense that presents the right matchups to stay in this game. Brady will figure it out in time, though, with the help of his talented skill-position supporting cast, and the Bucs will eventually rattle rookie Herbert. Brady will face more of a grind against that secondary and pass rush, however. |
Ravens |
over |
Washington |
The Ravens won't get complicated here after they saw the Browns run all over Washington. Ingram, Dobbins and Edwards can be effective flanking Lamar Jackson, who won't be thwarted in hitting big pass plays downfield, either. Haskins doesn't have much around him after second-year wideout McLaurin and rookie back Gibson. Baltimore will belt out its greatest hits in a short way around to another side of Maryland. |
Cardinals |
over |
Panthers |
The Cardinals are enjoying the Murray roller-coaster ride, and they were a few mistakes away from being 3-0. Murray should not fear throwing to Hopkins and running against the Panthers after Carolina's defense overachieved against the Chargers. |
Vikings |
over |
Texans |
Possibly another postponed game here. The Texans offense doesn't feel as dangerous around Watson as the Vikings' offense is around as both Thielen and rookie Jefferson are tough covers. Look for Cook to make the game script unrelentingly positive for Minnesota, which this time will hold a lead late. |
Rams |
over |
Giants |
The Giants don't have much left around Jones, with their post-Barkley rushing committee looking bad and the receiving corps pretty much down to the promise of Slayton. The Rams will spend good time with Jones in the backfield and Ramsey will erase Slayton. |
Chiefs |
over |
Patriots |
This should be a good game. The Patriots' secondary will try to take Kelce or HIll away. New England is better equipped to slow the tight end. The Pats will go run-heavy with Cam and their backs to grind out a ball-control game plan and keep Mahomes off the field. But this is a hostile spot for Newton, and he will need to throw against a tough pass rush and active secondary to keep up with Mahomes, who won't need too many possessions to ensure KC takes a close win. |
Bills |
over |
Raiders |
Another surprisingly good game here. Could be a trip game for the on-fire Bills. Buffalo is built much like the Patriots that had little trouble with the Raiders. The Raiders' secondary cannot handle covering Diggs all over the field and their run D isn't equipped to handle Allen and Singletary. |
49ers |
over |
Eagles |
This seems like another walkover for the 49ers. But the Eagles can slow down the 49ers' running game and will do things to help Wentz against a good defense that is missing key players. Plus, backup QB Mullens is on the other side facing a tough pass rush. The 49ers will still get the job done at home to get to 3-1, but it'll be more of a grind. |
Packers |
over |
Falcons |
0-3 on the road facing 3-0. The Falcons hope they can get Julio back. The Packers hope they can get Adams back. Regardless, look for Rodgers to light it up and keep up the offense's high rate of scoring and big plays. The Falcons will counter with some Gurley, but a lot more of Matty Ice to Ridley and the other healthy pass-catchers. Jones has had massive games against Green Bay in the past and his presence would help Ryan. |
