NFL Week 5 Predictions Thread (2019 Season)
Post Body

Good morning /r/NFL! The first quarter of football has come and gone, and I think we have a good understanding of how the season will be going. Backups are dominating the league. Star players are leaving the game, getting suspended, or asking to be traded. Dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! I was terrible last week, going a measly 7-8, bringing me to 38-25. I hope you all fared better than I did. Week 5 is upon us, with just four divisional matchups on the schedule. Let's get to it!

Winner Loser Comments
Seahawks over Rams This will be a close game, but I don't think this will be a low scoring one. The Rams on the road after a stunning loss to the Bucs will put up a great fight, but playing in Seattle will give the Seahawks the slight edge they need to win this one.
Bengals over Cardinals Neither teams have shown us anything remote to a good game over the past couple of weeks, so it's hard to pick a winner in this one. I think QB experience and home field give the Bengals a better shot at a win in this game.
Titans over Bills The Titans will look to extend their win streak this week and I believe they do so, but it'll come down to a field goal to get it. Both teams played well last week, so hopefully it'll extend into this week.
Bears over Raiders Chicago's defense continues to impress, it's not certain if Trubisky will be on the field or nursing his shoulder on the sideline. But Chase Daniel is a great backup the can get them wins if he's on the field.
Saints over Buccaneers Saints defense keeps getting better each week, and Teddy is gelling more and more with the offense with every drive. If the O-line can stop bleeding penalties, and the Dome can stay loud and disruptive, the Saints should be able to shut down Winston.
Vikings over Giants The Vikings got embarrassed last week and are looking to bounce back against a Giants team on a roll behind their new QB. It'll be interesting to see how the Giants adjust without Barkley for another week. I'm expecting to see a lot of passes to Tate this weekend.
Eagles over Jets Jets off a bye and Eagles off TNF, both teams should be well rested. Playing in Philly after taking down the Packers in a surprise last second win has the Eagles carrying a lot of momentum.
Ravens over Steelers Welp, Steelers finally won a game. But I don't think beating the Bengals will be the same as taking on the Ravens. Baltimore by two TDs.
Patriots over Redskins Jon Gruden's coaching career will be the next thing the Dark Lord sacrifices to the old gods for yet another win.
Panthers over Jaguars Battle of the Backups! Minshew vs Allen. This will be a very close game. Both teams have great defenses and solid star RBs. I think home field will give Carolina a slight edge.
Texans over Falcons It has to be tough to be an Atlanta fan. Thinking you had an amazing team this year, then going 1-3 due to injuries and terrible playcalling. Houston's not going to care, though. Probably a double score victory on this one.
Chargers over Broncos Chargers will take full advantage of Denver's collapse to pull down another win. Something has to change soon with the Broncos.
Packers over Cowboys Both teams are coming off a disappointing loss last week. The Packers are another good team that Dallas has to face, and Rodgers isn't a backup like Teddy is.
Chiefs over Colts KC is playing at an amazing level and there are only a few teams in the NFL with enough player and coaching talent to take them down. Playing in Arrowhead, I don't think Indy will be at that level this weekend.
49ers over Browns The Browns shocked everyone by beating Baltimore last week. But I think facing the 49ers after a bye in San Fran will give them a lot of fits. I expect a lot of scoring in this matchup.

Byes: Lions, Dolphins

Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Best of luck!

Update: 10-5, not too bad. On to Week 6!
