Normally we’re on here complaining about our NFH and those struggles. Yesterday I woke and took my dogs out for our morning routine. The side of my house facing the street was covered in eggs. I naturally wanted to blame the NFH but knew this was not their MO. As I walked around surveying the mess I saw another neighbor that’s also a friend surveying what looked to be a worse mess than ours. She stated that she had a pretty good idea of who did it. A block south of us there is a group of teenagers. These are the kind that are most likely bullied in school and instead of finding a way to handle it, they pick on those smaller than them. Most kids they pick on would average out at about 10. They normally know that if they’re not bothering me or kids that I don’t care what they do. The good neighbor had a run in with them while I was out. She chased them back to their street due to picking on the younger kids. She warned them police would be involved if they came back. I’m not sure why we were attacked but of course I have these kids on camera. I’ve reached out to the parents of two of the kids and sent them screenshots to verify yes it was them. I’ve asked them to handle things at home because I don’t want to involve the police. The good neighbor called the cops and is pursuing vandalism charges. The local PD knows me due to our NFH and l let them know not to include us in their investigation. I did suggest that we find them “summer jobs” if the parents aren’t willing to handle it. Unfortunately, the latest update I have is that the teens are now under investigation for stolen items from around the area. Due to the total value they are looking at some serious charges. Of course the parents are blaming the good neighbor for their kids being caught. Given the age of the teens and that this is a soft on crime town, I don’t think much will happen. I hope for everyone’s sake that they just stick close to home.
