Most Wanted (2005) crashes randomly while playing?

So, in a fit of nostalgia, I decided to replay Underground and Underground 2 - I downloaded both from an abandonware website, and they ran just fine on my laptop; Most Wanted on the other hand, after a while it crashes, no warning at all, even though it ran just fine up to that point, and then I can't even pick up from where it crashed because when I try to start up the game again, it crashes again right on the first loading screen.
What am I doing wrong?
