I'm not really sure what inspired me to make this post, but honestly this is a really underrated achievement. Only 29 players in NBA history can say they've made both All NBA 1st Team and All Defense 1st Team in the same season. Only they can say that for at least one season, they were one of the best offensive and defensive players in the world, and only 20 players can say they've done it more than one season. This is the list:
Quick disclaimer: All Defense selections became a thing in the 1968-69 season, anything before that wasn't recorded, otherwise you can bet Jerry West would've been on here a few more times, and players like Bill Russell would've made the list as well.

To me, the biggest surprise on this list is Walt Frazier, I knew he was a great defensive point guard, but after seeing this, and then looking up his resume, now I'm starting to wonder why he isn't mentioned among the all time great PGs. He has the same total amount of All NBA 1st teams and All Defense 1st teams as Chris Paul, and he has 2 rings to back it up along with an iconic 36 point 19 assist performance in Game 7 of the 1970 Finals, not to say that I think Frazier is better all time than CP, I'm just giving some context.
What's your biggest takeaway(s) from seeing this list?
