Most of us have heard these terms before, and I don't think there's a set definition for them so I'll just give my take on how I distinguish them first:
To me, a floor raiser is a player who can carry a below average roster and make them a good solid playoff team capable of making a lucky run, and a ceiling raiser is a player who can get onto an already solid team and help bring that team to new extraordinary heights that wouldn't have been possible without them.
Now obviously, there are players who fit both categories but for most players, they are either one or the other. Obviously, if we're just name dropping players like LeBron, Giannis and KD (players who I think are floor raisers), then obviously those guys are more valuable to championship teams because they are the best players. I'm strictly focusing on the archetypes of ceiling raiser vs floor raiser without dropping any names, and just looking at them as concepts.
So which archetype do you believe is more important to a championship winning squad?
Edit: IMO the players in recent memory who I think are the closest to fitting both archetypes are Dwyane Wade and Steph Curry
