Should team record have any weight at all on who gets selected as an All Star?
Post Body

Year after year I feel like there are certain players who get snubbed from the all star team just because their team success just isn't where fans would like it to be. They instead favor players who, while less individually talented and successful, star on a team with a winning record and therefore have a better claim as an all star and snub players who consistently put on a show every single game (Devin Booker, Trae Young, Bradley Beal, and Karl Anthony Towns are the more notable ones recently).

In my opinion, the all star team should represent the brightest and most individual talented players the league has to offer. We've seen the kind of shows they can put on in the regular season, and while they may not have won as many games, that shouldn't take away from how spectacular their performance is. I believe the All NBA team should be the only time that winning gets taken into account during selections, but the all star team is about putting on a show, and to give the fans the best show possible, why not select the players who are most likely to do that?
