A trade idea to bring Ben Simmons to Chicago

Post Body

I've been thinking about Ben Simmons in Chicago and how he would benefit from playing next to a hyper efficient perimeter scoring machine in Zach Lavine, and vice versa how Simmons' defensive abilities and excellent passing could help out Lavine off ball as well. The way things are now, it would be pretty difficult to not have a 3 team deal done to bring Simmons to Chicago, but here's an idea that I've seen been thrown around in local Chicago articles.

BULLS GET - Ben Simmons, Paul Reed

76ERS GET - CJ McCollum, Tomas Satoransky, unprotected 1st

TRAILBLAZERS GET - Lauri Markkanen, Thaddeus Young, Coby White

Surprise, this trade also involves moving CJ McCollum to Philly from Portland, although overall I feel like the Blazers get a solid haul from Chicago. Thad Young is still a valuable veteran contributor across the board on a decent contract, Markkanen could be a very good pick and pop option for Lillard, and Coby can be a serviceable backup PG. Norman Powell could easily slide into CJs role and become Lillard's backcourt running mate. And of course Philly gets major scoring help in their backcourt with CJ, and if Philly chooses to keep guys like Danny Green and Shake Milton around, they could help offset CJs defensive inabilities, not to mention Satoransky can also be a solid PG option in a limited role (smart with the ball, isn't turnover prone, helps that he's 6'7), although they wouldn't necessarily have a starting caliber PG on their roster so they may have to package some pieces to acquire one.

I don't know the likelihood of all 3 teams accepting this trade, the main thing I've just been thinking about is if and how Ben Simmons would fit next to Zach Lavine in the backcourt.

What'd you guys think about Simmons in Chicago?
