Growing up in Illinois in the 90s, It was Jordan and the Bulls and then the rest of the sports universe. While I've never been a huge NBA fan and never really had a team, it was amazing growing up watching one of the greatest sports dynasties of all time. And after a little more than a decade of middling existence and cellar dwelling, the Bulls had finally came back. One of the best coaches in the league, a talented roster with depth, and the youngest MVP in the league, it looked like there were multiple titles in their future. Unfortuneately, everyone knows the rest. Rose tore his ACL, followed by other injuries that zapped his explosiveness and the essentially the player everyone had seen him become. After that, the rest of the dominoes fell for the Bulls.
My questions to the hardcore Rose, Bulls fans, and NBA fans in general: What would Rose have been for his career up to this point? What would have been the Bulls potential? Does Rose develop a reliable outside shot to go with his explosive inside game? Does his defense improve to match his offensive production and can he fully utilize his physical gifts to become one of the best 2 way players in the game? Would a prime Derrick Rose have been what Westbrook became?
It's definitely one of the biggest what ifs of today's generation of NBA fans.
