I am planning for a small summer trip to the Southwest with my wife for our first roadtrip together with just us two. Weโre going in early to mid-July to have a chance for me to capture nice photos of any potential thunderstorms or monsoon storm cells. Here is the generalized plan that is very rough, I just put it together. Iโm thinking maybe 4 days or so? What do you think?
Leave from SoCal around 8 AM (8-9 hours or so), drive to Flagstaff or other nearby cities to Grand Canyon. Go to Grand Canyon the next day, then then go to Monument Valley where we will stay. The next day, drive to Page, explore (Antelope Canyon), then drive over to Zion. Drive back, stop in Vegas, maybe stay a day, then come back home.
Have fun! Maybe its an unpopular opinion in this sub, but most national parks with the exception of Yellowstone or Yosemite (don't know anything about the Alaskan parks) you can have an agenda that is enjoyable for a one day trip.
