I am looking to collab with/hire someone to help me make a shoulder bag/fanny pack thing that will eventually be mass produced in the US.
I am a Product Design Engineer for a mid size firearms accessories company. I have been in the industry for 13 years and if you wanted to take a product idea from concept to a manufactured good in plastic or metal I would be your guy but I don't personally have a bunch of experience with soft goods except strap/webbing type stuff like belts.
I have been buying fanny packs and shoulder/cross body bags for years and I am sick and tired of them just not being "right" and I think I am to the point where I want to just have my own made. Instead of buying a sewing machine and taking a couple years figuring out how to do what I want I figure I should find someone to work with.
I can either pay you straight up to make the prototype, we can work out some sort of back end arrangement on the finished production, or whatever works. I have about 4-5 places I could go to get this into production and sales but I really would want to talk with you and see where your level of interest is before talking about that too much.
I expect we might be going back and forth on the prototype for about a year in development and I don't expect this to be your full time job but I am definitely looking for someone who wants to work TOGETHER and collab on this.
I have plans on a few other soft goods projects and maybe we could start there too as those will be a bit lower hanging fruit.
I checked with the mods about this being ok to post and they said it was cool.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions.
Thanks.
