Anyone have any advice or tips for me as a beginner when recording my death metal music?

I use Reaper as my DAW and an M-Track Solo as my audio interface.

I have been playing bass and guitar for a while now at an amateur level, and a couple years ago decided to finally start dabbling into recording some of the songs I had wrote. I recorded quite a few, but they are just barely listenable.

The cleanest ones on that playlist are probably Slow Riff and 2nd Fret Triplet. But then once I get into the crazy slamming death metal stuff that I like on songs like Blood Zebra, it is just a fucking mess lol.

There are so many songs and things I want to work on, but I just really have no clue what I am doing. If anyone has any suggestions at all for basic things I can do when recording or mixing, then please let me know. I'm just doing this for fun, but I have definitely run into a brick wall of not knowing where to go from here. I have been considering private lessons with someone who can help, but the decent looking ones that I saw are not really in my budget right now.

Thanks!
