Piston blew

So I was riding a bike this morning and I heard something pop and I lost all compression so I had to wait till I got off of work and now Iām taking a look at it. I found the culprit fat hole at the top of the piston. Any suggestions like should I have doubled up on gaskets I mean this never happened to me before I know I need a new piston but need suggestions on how to stop this from happening again
