My bike got stolen last night. Went to see some friends after work. Was only going to be there a couple hours, and it was 7pm. Still daylight, so I figured it was ok not to lock the steering column. Came out a little after 9, and the bike was gone. Filed a report and called my insurance. Today I called my friend to see if any of the building with cameras might have caught it. He called back 10 min later and said "I'm watching the mother fucker steal your bike!". It was some guy who was obviously high. He circled the bike a few times. Got on, tried to start it. After he couldn't, he started pushing it. Had some trouble at first. But then got it going, and literally walked off with it. I asked him for the time stamp, it was 7:10. 10 MINUTES AFTER I GOT THERE!! So always lock your bike folks! Had I done it, I would still have my bike. I learned the hard way. I hope it fell on the fucker, pinned him and he's dying a slow death underneath it.
