It was a long and brutal day at work, add a 40 mile commute home. So when I get home my brain starts to shut down. Pull up to the Garage, hit the kill switch. Start leaning to get off the bike, but the bike kept going. I then realized i forgot to put down the kickstand. I held on to it just enough to lay it down instead of letting it drop or even try to pick it back up, but it's a heavy bike so it still flopped a bit and the only damage was the clutch handle breaking in half. I felt like such a dumbass. couldn't believe I did that. I always give the stand small kick with my heel, even after i know i put it down, to make sure it's down before i get off the bike. I was so out of it and ready to get into some comfy clothes and eat some diner that even the automatic habit of doing it didn't kick in. Felt like a newbie all over again.
