Surgery, 6 weeks away from gym

Post Body

Getting surgery for my hernia and I was told to stay away from the gym for 6 weeks. I would really like the hernia to be fixed and gone, but I can’t imagine being away from lifting that long. Afraid I’d lose all my progress and have to start from scratch. Anyone ever had surgery that required time away from lifting? How was it getting back after your recovery?
