Our neighbors to the north have a gentler approach to speed management. NSW authorities warn motorists of speed cameras. And have the kindness to issue warning notices if you've been a little heavy on the pedal.
I'm not advocating speeding. No argument it increases risk of accidents.
I'm just interested in the contrasts between how speeding is managed. Is Victoria perhaps driven more my revenue raising? Perhaps more punitivive than preventative? Does knowing when a speed camera is ahead encourage speeding elsewhere? How does all this influence the psychology of driver behaviour?
I don't know. And I don't know how things are done in other states. No doubt our authorities have thought through all these things...or have they?
