I am 37 M. Generally I have been very healthy and in good shape with no history of heart disease and I have been doing annual checkups and all of my standard routine blood works have been normal.
Starting form about 3 months ago, the following has happened to me and I am wondering if this sounds familiar or is related to a known disease.
I used to smoke marijuana occasionally (1 or 2 times per week on average) and it never caused an issue to me. I had a break from marijuana for a couple of months and when I tried it again around 3 months ago I had a sever reaction to it. I was was feeling extremely cold and I felt my heart rate is unusually high. My hands and feet were shaking and cold and I was about to faint. I also had shortness of breath and some pain in my chest. I ended up going to ER. They took EKG and some blood tests and told me there is nothing wrong with my heart and I can go home. For a couple of weeks afterwards I was feeling some pain in my left chest on my ribs around my left nipple and a slight pain in my left shoulder and left arm.
The exact same reaction happened again when I again smoked marijuana 1 month later. Again went to ER and I was told nothing is wrong with my heart. After this I stopped smoking marijuana forever.
Since then I was afraid of increasing my heart rate much and I stopped going to the gym. I lost significant muscle mass and I was feeling very weak. Yesterday I went to the gym after a while and I realized when I do heavy cardio exercises that push my limits (eg rowing machines) I feel some discomfort in my left chest in the area between my nipple and underarm. After I came home from the gym, I stared feeling a pain in my left shoulder and the back of my left arm. I still have the pain in my left arm and shoulder after 24 hours.
I don't know what could be the cause of above changes in my body but I can recall a few things that happened to me before I start to have the above symptoms:
(i) For the first time in my life, I took Viagra (Sildenafil) a few times over a course of 2 weeks. In total I took it about 5 6 times and each time 50mg or less. I didn't feel any issues while I was taking it.
(ii) Once I had symptoms of the EBV virus infections (white patches on tonsils, excessive fatigue, loss of appetite). I visited my doctor a couple of weeks after my EBV-like symptoms had started. I took the EBV blood test and the acute infection test was negative but the other EBV tests were positive (i.e. I was infected with EBV at some point either recently or years ago). My EBV symptoms slowly disappeared in about 2 months.
(ii) Once I took a supplement which is a mixture of bee products. It contains Royal Jelly, Honey, Propolis, Bee Pollen. I took about two teaspoons of it and I remember I had a strange feeling on that day. I was unusually hyper and I felt my whole body is unusually warm. A similar feeling to the first time I took viagra. I stopped taking this supplement because I was worried about my body's reaction to it.
Do my current symptoms require immediate investigation? Do you think (i), (ii), and (iii) can be related to my symptoms at all?
