I asked Karen Gillan a question at a convention once.
Am I in the Marvel Cinematic Universe now? Am I Feige?
She talked about how hard it was to get a film she was producing to get released because studios focus more on streaming services and "content" than the films themselves and everyone literally made it out like "OMG she ticked about Madame Web for sure, she hates that film so much".
It's definitely the latter.
Except the Madame Web film was made public way back in 2019: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/sony-developing-spider-man-spinoff-madame-web-1243674/
Dakota Johnson was publicly hired for the role in 2022, 3-4 years after the fact: https://deadline.com/2022/02/madame-web-dakota-johnson-1234925603/
Like come on, Joe Smhoe could easily figure it out with like 3 minutes of Google searching. You seriously think an actress couldn't put two and two together.
